Yay you’re doing an engagement session – you’re gonna rock it!
Honestly, what it all comes down to is super simple – it’s about providing photographic proof that you love your significant other so you have evidence during their murder trial when THEY DIDN’T PUT THE TOILET SEAT DOWN AGAIN! Too much? Okay okay, I’m just kidding anyway (kinda). It’s about capturing who you two are as a unit… how you interact, how you display your love, the quirky things about you as a couple that make you who you are. It’s my job to bring that out in you so you can capture this moment in photo and show it to the kiddos and grand kiddos and whatnot for years to come!
SO WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?!
Don’t worry, homegirl gotchu. We’re in this together! Here are some basic guidelines on clothing that’ll help your pictures pop just that much more:
- Avoid any and all logos (think the Nike check mark). These can be suuuuper distracting and take away from your cute faces.
- Stick with solid colors and avoid patterns. Patterns have a similar effect to logos and tend to take away ALL OF YOUR THUNDER – how rude!
- Werk dem natural colors like never before. And when I say natural, I don’t necessarily mean tan (although that’s cool too, you do you boo). I love pops of color (think maroon, mustard, or forest green).
- Wear whats COMFORTABLE – honestly, you’ll look so much better and you’ll be so much happier with how your photos turn out if you’re comfortable both physically and mentally. Wear what makes you FEEL good! Also, you should be able to turn, spin, run, all those good things. While you can totally bring a pair of heels for a few photos, I recommend primarily wearing shoes and clothing that you can walk extended distances in.
So what can I expect?
Good question! I like to consider myself enjoyable to hang out with so we’ll be doing primarily that while also getting some bangin’ photos. It’s intimidating, I feel ya! I, too, often feel uncomfortable being in front of the camera. I pinky promise that after the first five minutes you’ll see that a) you so cute, boo; and 2) you won’t be doing anything different from what you usually do.
My entire purpose is to capture the relationship that you two actually have, not a posed representation of that. As such, we’ll be doing a lot of walking, hugging, kissing, and hand holding! It’ll all come natural ’cause that’s what you do anyway! You’ll feel like a pro in no time.
